The deets: Pashmina Collection set; Sam Edelman booties (similar, similar under $100); Something Navy headband; ASOS teddy coat (low stock, similar here); MAC cherry lip pencil; Rebecca Minkoff crossbody (similar under $25).
Let me start by saying I have owned this set for less than a month see all the pieces in the most recent collection here) and I have already worn it on three separate occasions. It's just the perfect comfortable and chic little black set that can be dressed up or down! Pair it with a wide brim hat for a more casual look, I have it paired here with some fun booties and a red lip & fancy headband for a holiday look (I wore this and took these photos right before our family Hanukkah dinner with my in-laws), and I totally plan on throwing on some black pumps with it for work. It does everything.
A couple reasons I love and support Pashmina Collection are because the pieces are locally sourced and produced right in the garment district of NYC (yay for small business), and Connie the owner and designer is a mom herself and all the pieces in the collection are specifically designed to be comfortable AND chic. Parent or not we all know how difficult it can sometimes be to be both of those things at once.

The deets: ASOS nursing dress; (sold out but this one is almost the same) Rag & Bone booties (similar, similar on sale for $60); Coach backpack (similar under $20); Gigi Pip hat (similar under $20); James Michelle necklace; Mejuri necklace.
I know, I know. Another maternity/nursing dress but hey, such is my life right now! Gotta have access to the milk makers and this dress does just that. I've worn it so many times and it's so nice to have in my closet for those days I want to feel fall-y but also comfortable enough to chill on the couch in because it feels like a t-shirt (let's be honest that's mostly what I do these days since I'm still on my maternity leave). Now let me talk about these booties...you probably clicked the link and were like WTF homegirl I would not pay $550 for black suede booties even if I were tripping on acid. I get it. They were a Poshmark score! I nabbed them for under $150! Love that app almost as much as I love my child, definitely as much as I love my husband.

The deets: Zara dress; FernWeh Boheme hat; Aerosoles boots; Rebecca Minkoff bag; Mejuri zodiak necklace.
Hello again from my terrace! It's the easiest place for me to snap pics of my outfits so I hope you don't get too bored of this view. I purchased this dress back in August thinking it would be a good post baby dress because the front is flowy and forgiving and there are buttons down the front for easy boob access. Guess what? I was right! I throw on this lovely little piece all the time and it makes life easy. I wore it to my husbands birthday dinner in September and countless times since. I love that it has transitioned with me from the hotter end of summer days into fall with the addition of a felt hat and some boots.

The deets: ASOS dress; Sam Edelman heels; Alexander Wang bag (similar, similar under $27); James Michelle necklace.
This is the outfit I wore on my first attempt to meet friends out for dinner with the baby. It's another one of my pregnancy purchases that I saved for after labor. Since it looked basically like a potato sack with a belt I knew it would be perfect to have in my closet for a still changing body. These were taken when Isla was 17 days old. I know it's like October now and it's all about Fall attire and this is a white linen dress so I apologize for being super off season but these days I'm super slow at posting since I have to really work to find the time.
The friends we were meeting for dinner also have a sweet little one year old that they brought along so there wasn't any pressure to seem like we had it all together since they already know the deal -which was nice. Also the restaurant they picked was in our building so there was literally a top notch escape plan if needed. It all went pretty well until the end when my husband ended up having to change her diaper on a bathroom floor (us newbies didn't realize not all mens bathrooms have changing tables - we need to start some kind of feminist movement for this #dadsdodiaperstoo) and I didn't bring along enough pumped milk to satiate her in the last fifteen or so minutes so she had a full meltdown in the restaurant but luckily by that point everyone had at least eaten their meals and the check was en route. Over all it was a good learning experience and mama got to have her first postpartum margarita!

The deets: J.Crew dress (on super sale!) & earrings; Chanel sunnies (similar under $20); Rag & Bone booties (similar under $80); Kate Spade bag (similar, similar on sale).
My second wedding anniversary was on September 17th of this month. We decided to celebrate a day early on the 16th so that my in-laws could watch the baby on a Sunday while we enjoyed our first post baby date! It was our first time away from her but by day ten we were ready. I know everyone is very different in this department but for us it felt good. We went to sushi for lunch since I missed it so much while I was pregnant followed by a matinee movie. We saw "A Simple Favor" because I love Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick (I dragged Mike to it but he enjoyed it too!).
This dress was one of the items I had purchased while pregnant and hidden away for myself for after baby. It's nice and loose with a busy pattern to distract from my post baby bod (you still have a weird bump for a while after birth). It's going to be a long way until I feel like I have my old body back but it's really not something I care too much about because it gave me my baby! I will get there slowly. I want to be super open about this part of having a child because the internet can make it seem really unrealistic. I also was still in some pain at this point (a week and a half later) so was very thankful for the reclining chairs in the fancy theater we were at.

The deets: Motherhood Maternity overalls; J.Crew tee & earrings; Kate Spade bag (similar); Jack Rogers sandals; Karen Walker sunnies.
What could be more stereotypical than a 38 week pregnant lady wearing overalls? Well, let me tell you: a 38 week pregnant lady wearing overalls at a restaurant that has a PICKLE BAR. Yes, my sweet, dear husband drove me to an awesome authentic Jewish Deli about 30 mins away that had a homemade pickle bar. Basically, I was living my best life. I even took a couple home with me.
I know it's been pretty quiet around here but it's been hard working full time, prepping for baby, and then trying to also squeeze in time to blog. As I am writing this I am actually in my 39th week and have officially started working from home so at least the stress of riding the metro every day is gone. Just waiting for our mini now!
